I guess I haven't posted anything here for a while. What's been going on? Hmm... my bike has been in and out of the repair shop a number of times over the last couple of months. It seems to be working ok now, although by even saying that I'm worried I might jinx it. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to have it towed - the RACV membership has paid for itself many times over. I think the guys at Redwing must be sick of me by now. Looking forward to getting out on some good rides sometime soon.

We went and picked Jack up from the airport last weekend. He lasted longer in New Zealand than I would have I think.

I'm in the process of finalising a trip to Peru and Greece later in the year, which is exciting. The deal is, my cousin (who lives in Ireland) is getting married in the Greek Islands in September. I was vaguely thinking about going since I haven't had a holiday for a while and haven't seen that branch of the relos for even longer. Then Dave mentioned that he and his mates are going to trek around South America for 3-4 months, starting at the end of August. The plan for the first part of their trip included going to Machu Picchu and the Amazon Basin, which sounded to me like an opportunity too good to miss. So I'm going to join up with those guys from late August to late September, then head across to the Greek Islands for the wedding, and get home at the start of October. Here's a map of my flight paths - I'm going to see a whole lot of the inside of planes. To be honest I could easily spend months travelling around South America (not to mention the Mediterranean), but I don't think the boss would be too happy with that. Who knows.. maybe I'll get a chance to go back some day.

The new iPhone was announced yesterday and will be available next month. As usual, everything Apple does is shrouded in secrecy, so everyone is kept guessing about the details right up until the last minute. Even now that it's out of the bag, details like how much it's going to cost in Australia, how and where you can get it are still not available. The artificial layer of fog is really kind of alienating to customers, and if they didn't have the best damn products around I don't think they would have any customers left. Steve Jobs knows you're hooked on his sweet product, so why should he go out of his way to try and keep you happy? Unfortunately unlike a traditional dealer, the first one is definitely not free.
